I agree! There must have been a reason. In my reading it says some of it may have been not wanting to leave England in general. Others say that she wanted to have more time with her family that she hadn't seen in years that had gotten together that Christmas. Still maybe she and John didn't get along. Who knows. But I do think it almost barbaric that daughters would be political pawns, sent away to never or rarely see family again.
